Summer is here!
Finally, some sunny weather to enjoy. During the school holidays kids, parents and grandparents often spend more time outside. Whilst it is good for your vitamin D levels to have some gentle sun each day (without burning) cumulative sun exposure can lead to skin cancer. Excessive sun exposure also increases the signs of aging.
We would always recommend a high factor (at least 30 SPF) which needs to be applied regularly and frequently. If you notice a new skin lesion, or changes in an existing one, we would advise you to make an appointment to see one of our doctors. We offer skin checks and are able to photograph lesions so any future changes can be spotted early and therefore treated early, if necessary.
So enjoy the sunshine but remember to slip, slop, slap!
